Volunteering

HARCSAC offers free non-judgemental face to face counselling, as well as live online video counselling, to women over the age of 18 who are survivors of rape, sexual assault and/or childhood sexual abuse, no matter when this happened and who are residents of Hertfordshire.

No formal qualifications or specific experience are necessary, but an awareness of women’s issues is essential.

Volunteering to directly support clients

After completion of the initial training course, volunteers will be willing and available to attend a regular Thursday evening meeting and meet with a client at least one hour per fortnight.

A willingness to undertake additional training as necessary and keep-up-to-date with key issues and debates will also be essential as part of their ongoing personal development.

If you might be interested in attending our next training course and working with clients please contact our office at recruitment@hertsrapecrisis.org.uk or telephone 01707 276539 and leave your name and contact details for further information.

These volunteer posts are subject to a DBS check and open to women only. (Exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1)
