What We Believe

We believe rape and sexual violence is never the fault of the survivor.

We understand that male violence against women is one of the most serious inequalities facing women in the UK today.

HARCSAC services are managed and delivered by women, for women.  HARCSAC services support women to articulate their own experiences and realities in their own way in a safe, non-threatening, women only space.  HARCSAC asserts that women and children can never be held responsible for the choice made by another to abuse them.

We believe that the women who use our services are best placed to identify their own recovery needs and it is for us to support them.

The Rape Crisis Movement

HARCSAC is a member of Rape Crisis England and Wales (RCEW) and adhere to RCEW Service Standards.  RCEW is an organisation that supports Rape Crisis Centres all over the country.  RCEW ensures that all accreditated centres maintain national service standards, lobbies government and promotes awareness working to end sexual violence and abuse.
